The Peruvian Ministry of Environment announced that it planned to monitor all national forests by 2030, as part of a government intervention strategy aiming to preserve 10 million hectares and protect 1,000 native communities in the country.
Peru's Ministry of Economy and Finance authorised the financing of five intervention projects as part of the Integral Plan for Reconstruction, for 29.4 million soles ($7.8 million).
Peru exported containers and packaging to 70 countries for a total value of $597.8 million in 2020. Chile was the main importing country with a value of $63.98 million, thus concentrating 15% of such exports. Colombia, the US, Ecuador and Bolivia were also part of the top ten importing countries.
The government announced that the number of medical oxygen plants in Peru had increased by 150%, going from 63 to 159 in 15 weeks and boosting the oxygen production capacity from 41 tons to 101 tons. The Transition and Emergency government will continue to seek more oxygen supply to treat patients.
